What's the hype on Reverse Osmosis?

Considering the season and times we are living in (cue: COVID-19, the mass pandemic terrorizing the world currently), we want to assure everyone buying Made Cold that we use the best water we can obtain. 

Made Cold uses RO water for all our coffee, tea, and beverages. Remember: cleaner water = tastier product!

What in the world is RO?!

RO stands for reverse osmosis. But, isn’t the water coming out from our tap already clean? (We live in Singapore!) Yes. Singapore works hard to provide clean water for consumers that meets EPA guidelines. But the truth of the matter is - contaminants can still infiltrate and corroded pipes can introduce impurities into the water lines even after it has been treated at a water plant! Some of the contaminants include sodium, magnesium, detergents, asbestos, chlorine, sulfates, fluoride and depending on the age of your pipes, there might be bacteria that you definitely should not be ingesting.  

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water treatment process that removes contaminants from water by using pressure to force water molecules through a semipermeable membrane. During this process, the contaminants are filtered out and flushed away, leaving clean, delicious drinking water. TRUST US. There is a difference!

Water filtered or treated by RO is pure, clean, and healthy.  RO treatment system is currently the only technology that can remove most of the emerging contaminants including other contaminants (i.e., Arsenic, Cyanide, and Fluoride). Ain't no one wants to ingest cyanide!

When we started here at Made Cold, we sent out our water for testing and failed the TPC (total plate count) that is mandated by the local governmental body. To ensure our products are safe, we decided to try RO. And we found that the difference is phenomenal!

The main ingredient in cold brew is water. Hence the cleaner the water, the better tasting are our products. Added bonus! We also uses UV light to kill any bacteria that might still be present that cannot be filtered out. 

Every time when you enjoy a Made Cold product, regardless of whether it is our cold brew coffee, tea or other beverages, be rest assured. We have gone through multiple steps and several preventive methods with the help of the latest technology to remove any contaminants in water.
